Terms of Use
Last updated: September 22, 2026
1. Acceptance. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Innertrail Coaching ("we", "us") for your use of the Innertrail Journal web application (the "App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The service. The App is a digital companion to the Innertrail Journal: a personal-development journaling tool with weekly prompts, habit trackers, and progress summaries. It is provided for educational and personal-development purposes.
3. Not professional advice. The App and its content are not medical, mental-health, therapeutic, or counselling advice, and are not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis or need support: in Canada and the United States, call or text 988 at any time.
4. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the App.
5. Accounts. You sign in with your email address; we email you a login link. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your login link.
6. Your content. You own everything you write or enter in the App ("Your Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and sync the App for you. We do not read, mine, sell, or share Your Content except as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use. You agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the App; (c) upload malicious code; or (d) infringe the rights of others.
8. Our intellectual property. The App, its design, text, prompts, and branding are owned by Innertrail Coaching and protected by copyright and other laws. © 2026 Innertrail Coaching. All rights reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission, except as allowed by law (such as fair dealing / fair use).
9. Third-party services. The App uses third-party infrastructure (currently Supabase) for authentication, database hosting, and data sync. Your use of the App is also subject to those providers' terms as applicable.
10. Disclaimers. The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your data will never be lost — keep your own backup of anything important.
11. Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Innertrail Coaching will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App, if any. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
12. Termination. You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. On termination, your right to use the App ends; you may request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date; your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
15. General. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the App.
16. Contact. Questions about these Terms: contact@innertrailcoaching.com.

1. Who we are. Innertrail Coaching ("we", "us") operates the Innertrail Journal web application (the "App"). Contact: contact@innertrailcoaching.com.
2. What we collect.
- Account information: your first and last name and email address, used to create your account and for passwordless login.
- Date of birth: collected when you create your account at first sign-in, used to verify you are 18 or older and to show you a birthday message in the App on your birthday. It is stored with your account so it follows you across your devices. It is never used for advertising.
- Journal content: everything you enter — affirmations, reflections, tracker checkmarks, mood and consistency ratings, commitments. This is stored so the App works and syncs across your devices.
- On your device: the App stores data in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and your entries available offline. Progress insights (like recurring themes in your entries) are computed on your device and are never sent anywhere for analysis. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that follow you across the web.
3. Why we collect it. To create and maintain your account, verify you meet the 18+ age requirement, personalize your experience (for example, greeting you by name and wishing you a happy birthday), operate and sync the App across your devices, send login links, and meet legal obligations. We collect only what the App needs to function.
4. Consent. By creating an account and using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure described here. You may withdraw consent by requesting deletion of your account and data (see section 9); without that data the App can no longer sync for you.
5. Where your data lives. The App uses Supabase (authentication and database) and Netlify (hosting) to operate. These providers process your data only to run the App and are contractually required to protect it. Your data may be stored on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this cross-border storage.
6. Sharing. We do not sell your personal information — ever. We share data only: (a) with our infrastructure provider as needed to operate the App; (b) if required by law or to protect rights and safety. Your journal content is never used for advertising.
7. Emails. We send only transactional emails (login links and essential service notices). Marketing emails (coaching tips and offers) are sent only if you separately opt in by ticking the email checkbox when signing in or in the Contact tab. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by unticking the checkbox in the Contact tab or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
8. Security. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure provider, and access is restricted. No method is 100% secure; in the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Your rights. Whether you are in Canada (PIPEDA) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you may: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccuracies; request deletion of your account and data; and request a copy of your data. You can delete your journal data yourself at any time from the Contact tab (“Delete my journal data”): this permanently removes your entries from our servers, clears the App’s data on that device, and signs you out. To remove your login account as well, use “Delete my account entirely” in the Contact tab — this deletes your journal data, your login, and this device’s data in one step. For any other request, email contact@innertrailcoaching.com — we respond within 30 days. Note: deleting your cloud data does not automatically clear the App’s local copy on your other devices; sign out or delete on each device.
10. Retention. We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your data in the App, your cloud-stored entries are removed immediately. If you request deletion by email, we delete your cloud-stored data within 30 days.
11. Children. The App is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes. We may update this policy; material changes will be noted by the "Last updated" date above, and we will notify account holders of significant changes by email.
